Performs the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality care through assessment of patients, establishment and implementation of the nursing care plan, and evaluation of clinical outcomes within an inpatient environment. Develops a flexible, innovative, and confident self-directed approach to patient and family care and operates from a deep understanding of the total situation. Collaborates with other caregivers to challenge and coordinate institutional resources to maximize advocacy for patient and family care in achieving the most effective outcomes. Demonstrates expertise in the nursing process using effortless integration of research-based knowledge into nursing practice and critically evaluating own decision making and judgments.

Provides ongoing patient centered nursing care. Completes initial assessment of patient including obtaining vital signs and gathering pertinent health information. Provides triage and consultation to patient, family, andor significant others according to protocol and established guidelines.

Initiates and implements a nursing plan of care individualized to the needs of each patient. Anticipates patientfamily needs throughout the health care continuum. Promotes patientfamily involvement in planning and implementing care and assists the patientfamily to incorporate condition-related issues to lifestyle changes.

Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in patient's condition, status and need for care. Provides ongoing assessment of patient and takes appropriate nursing actions when changes occur. Anticipates and alters the plan of care as needed and collaborates with other health care team members to coordinate patient centered care.

Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Provides patient status updates to physicians on a regular basis. Documents, maintains and updates accurate patient records according to agency, state, and federal guidelines.

Administers medications, under physicianprovider orders, which may include: antibiotics, narcotic pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, insulin, blood thinners, and allergy antigens. Initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; performs mixing of medications according to protocols.

Monitors the patient's medication needs and response to treatment. Adjusts medication as appropriate within scope of practice and utilizing protocols established by the physician. Performs laboratory procedures and assists the physicianprovider with procedures and surgeries using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautionsinfection control guidelines.

Assists the physicianprovider with procedures andor surgeries. Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as complex wound care, hickmanport-a-cathPIC line, central line care, conscious sedation, hyperalimentation, venipunture, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.

Coordinates the discharge planning process with the patientfamily, physician, social worker, and other staff members as appropriate. Assesses and provides complex patient education and counseling to the patient, family, andor significant others. Completes maintenance and quality monitoring of equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.

Leads all aspects of performance improvement for one or more initiatives which impact quality with demonstrated results. For example, baseline data analysis, identification of problem, creation of an evidenced-based intervention plan, implementation utilizing change theory, data collection, data analysis, and data evaluation. Participates in professional activities which contribute to personal professional development and the development of others.

Acts as an expert clinical and department resource. Seeks opportunities to teach, coach and mentor others. Serves as a consultant for complex patient caseloads. Provides consultation to health care team members to foster therapeutic communication. Serves as a preceptor and assists in the development and implementation of staff orientation, competency and educational activities. Collaborates with other caregivers to challenge current practices and synthesize research findings to develop optimal systems to achieve the most effective patient and family outcomes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
