Summary:
In conjunction with the Global Marketing Manager, this position is responsible for the development and execution of the overall marketing strategy for assigned categories. Responsible for product line(s) life cycle management, new product development projects, and business initiatives as assigned within the global product portfolio.

Responsibilities:
Help develop long-range strategic plans for assigned category, including category growth strategies (both organic and inorganic) and product portfolio roadmap. Help develop presentation to management.
Lead business initiatives and product programs as assigned to help deliver business results for assigned category, monitor performance, recommend and implement course correction actions as needed. Build KPI's, action plans, and associated measurement approaches to track performance.
Lead Product Lifecycle Management of assigned categories.
For assigned new product development projects, establish the strategy for product marketing and establish new product go to market plan with channel marketing. Collaborate with digital marketing, market research, business intelligence, trade shows, advertising, promotional, merchandising, public relations, and marketing communications to develop and execute plan. Provide ROI justification for product marketing programs.
Design and implement voice of customer systems to understand customer and consumer feedback, and track continuous improvement metrics to fuel ideation, validation, and verification of product strategy. Interacts with customers and consumers as needed to understand opportunities and improvement areas.
Define and present for approval the marketing requirements and business case justification for new product development scopes incorporating market dynamics, performance features, pricing, voice of customer, forecast and cross-functional team input where needed.
Create and present product training programs internally and externally to key customers related to the assigned categories.
Ensure that the assigned new product development projects are successfully managed and launched within the Stage-Gate process on time, on budget, and in scope in conjunction with the assigned Project Manager or as project manager. Present projects to management for stage-gate approvals and updates.
Lead entire team and project or provide marketing representation to cross functional new product development teams as assigned. Utilize leadership skills to drive accountability.
Provide product input for annual marketing strategies, budgets, and plans and overarching brand and channel strategies; approve product marketing components of plan.
Maintain continual surveillance and evaluation of competitors' products/programs, market and industry trends. Trends such as demand drivers, product, design, technology, and pricing. Develop data into business recommendations and strategies.
Assist the Vice President of Marketing, Category Directors and other marketing department employees in developing and executing other key projects, as needed.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, engineering or other technical discipline.
3-5 years of professional, relevant work experience in product management, channel marketing or marketing communications is required.
Proven ability to influence others within function and cross-functionally.
Proven success to execute new product development projects and new product launches in a product manufacturing, building products, or consumer products environment.
Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and launch new products using a cross-functional, stage gate approach.
Powerful teamwork and team building skills, as well as empathy and intuition for both team members and target markets alike.
Strong leadership, interpersonal and persuasion skills able to make persuasive recommendations and motivate internal and external stakeholders to take action to achieve objectives.
Ability to market technical product features as customer benefits.
Creative individual who demonstrates excellent problem solving skills.
Strong project management skills.
Highly motivated, extremely organized and detail-oriented.
Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
An MBA from a reputable business school is a plus.
Previous work experience in marketing building products or other consumer durable goods is preferred. Experience with highly engineered, technology-driven products a plus.
Exposure to global initiatives and experience in working with people in other countries is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at a computer station for up to 8 hours per day.
