Summary: The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leadership and development of Quality resources as they affect the quality of products and processes within the Broan Hartford Facility. Manage the manufacturing quality team to insure the optimal performance and appropriate interface with required business functions. Provide planning and implementation of quality procedures and systems, and provide technical direction of projects including application of statistical techniques controls for products and material which are manufactured.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, execute quality planning activities to satisfy defined objectives, goals and customer expectations.
Plan the quality measurement and controls on material, processes, and product to provide necessary level of quality at minimum quality-related costs for manufactured or purchased products, sub-assemblies, components or materials. Develop formats for inspection and test instructions, measurement data, and other quality information as needed.
Recommend product and process improvements that increase product uniformity and improve characteristics to reduce field failures.
Analyze quality information and customer feedback to identify opportunities for adjustment to product design, manufacturing process and equipment, and quality procedures. Follow-up to assure that corrective actions are in place and assess effectiveness.
Develop methods and procedures for evaluation of processes and equipment to meet required quality capability. Determine that manufacturing processes have sufficient capability to meet quality requirements.
Provide for disposition of non-conforming purchased products in a timely economical manner and assure the proper containment action is taken. Maintain appropriate component history and records.
Maintain program for calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment and systems. Determine adequacy of equipment through statistical analysis (G,R&R & MSA)
Apply motivation techniques to provide a productive work force. Assure compliance with fair, equitable treatment of personnel, consistent with company policies and programs.
Appraise employee performance and recommend changes of status and salary adjustments.
Develop and conduct quality orientation programs for all company personnel to ensure understanding of quality objectives, programs, plans and techniques.
Train appropriate personnel in technical quality skills and contemporary problem solving techniques. Conduct training and orientation programs as appropriate.
Perform process audits to validate execution of standard work practices. Obtain appropriate corrective action where required.
Provide analyses of internal quality-related issues and communicate the situations to affected departments.
Maintain a safe working environment within the department.
Inspect, test or measure product for conformance to specification first article and in-process inspections.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges or micrometers.
Read blueprints, data, manuals or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades or moisture content and quantities inspected or graded.
Complete Product Parts Approval Process paperwork
Review outsourced parts for print conformity for release to production.
Determine acceptance or rejections of materials based on measurements and test results.
Complete inspections using optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines, and other advanced measuring equipment.
Set-up, program and operate testing and CMM equipment.
Works with minimal supervision to independently perform the job of Quality Assurance Technician in its entirety as assigned.
Complete quality assessments during manufacturing
Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated correctly.
Determine quality assurance of product prior to movement throughout manufacturing.
Collaboration between associates and supervisor/leads concerning inspection results.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field
2-5 years of Quality supervision experience
Knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, TS16949)
Knowledge of Metrology
Excellent communication and motivation skills
Strong statistical background (Minitab experience a plus)
Mentoring skills
