Summary:
Operations Manager is responsible for managing the projects and respective crews.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the oversight of all project types including residential, commercial, and small/mid-sized municipal, including the coordination with Subcontractors on schedule, production, quantities, etc.
Attend Pre-Construction/Progress Meetings Works closely with Crew Foreman/Project Managers on large scale municipal/general contractor projects.
Aptitude to make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
Managing Crew Foreman/ Supervisor as they perform their duties on Municipal, commercial and residential projects.
Determine and define project scope and objectives by reviewing the job folder.
Communicate and provide project details to the Project Foreman/ Supervisor prior to the project starting using information in job folder.
Provide project updates on a consistent basis about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Inform Director of Project Management of your daily schedule.
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
Coordination of resources with scheduler including equipment, labor, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Monitoring cost control, quality, productivity, and safety on projects.
Coordinate with Scheduler on availability of equipment and team members.
Visits job site to confirm that it is ready for the respective crews prior to them mobilizing to jobs.
Daily jobsite monitoring to facilitate better scheduling for the next day.
Ability to decide when to pull off a job due to weather, material or site issues.
Responsible for making sure that Diggers hotline is called and scheduled.
All other duties as assigned by manager.
Knowledge, Experience &
Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience in the Landscape or Road Construction industry or project management.
Skilled in running all aspects of a Landscape construction operation, including equipment and processes.
High organizational skills allowing you to manage multiple projects at one time.
Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
Ability to read and scale site plans.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
High attention to detail, quality, and workmanship.
Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license with a good driving record.
